Jaipur also called “Pink City” is renowned for its trademark building colour, palaces, traditional food and handicrafts.
I started my day by visiting Hawa Mahal “Palace of Winds”. It was constructed with red and pink sandstone in 1799.
After walking for half an hour in the streets of Jaipur, i realised it is apt to call the city as “pink city”.
Street shopping is something one shouldn’t miss during his/her visit to the city. A wide range of handmade products, souvenirs, puppets and clothes are available to purchase. Proper bargaining skills can help to get the products at much lower price than the price initially quoted by shop keepers.
Amber fort is the best and famous palace in Jaipur. Walking will approximately take two hours to cover the entire palace. Fortunately there is an elephant ride covering the palace, but it is available from 7am to 11am from Monday to Saturday.
Finally i ended my day with the visit to Jal Mahal “Water Palace”.
