Hello all, this is my second post.
I went to Edmonton at the beginning of August and I will share with you one of the days I enjoyed the most. This morning we woke up at around 8, ready to delve into the complimentary breakfast options at Rosslyn Inn, the hotel we stayed at. My brother and I enjoyed our subpar breakfast and watched Global News Edmonton on the TV. We waited for my parents to come and they ate the breakfast as well and we were out ready to enjoy what the capital of Alberta province has to offer. In our rented Cadillac, we drove down to the Waterfront to see the North Saskatchewan River. On our way, we passed by the Alberta legislature. Me being someone who loves politics I got my parents to side with me to stop and see the Legislature. We started our tour in the gardens in front of the Legislature and walked around the beautiful flowers and other monuments. walked around the Legislature we saw the British Flag, a reminder we are in Commonwealth country, as well as look at the amazing water fountain they have outside. In the Legislature we did a very simple security check and waited for the 11 am tour. During our wait for the tour, we looked up and saw the amazing dome from the inside. As well as lots of regiment flags. At eleven we walked all around the Legislature and learned about the government of Alberta, during the tour. After the tour, we walked all around the fountain and plaza in front of the Legislature. Where I found the book “Les Canadiens et leur système du gouvernement.” Afterward, we drove around the Central Edmonton Area. We drove on the Walterdale Bridge which was really nice. For lunch, we went to Edmonton’s boring Chinatown and ate at a Vietnamese restaurant. which tasted amazing. Afterward, we spent the rest of the day in the Kingsway Mall and ate dinner at a friends house.
This was my most memorable day in Edmonton as I finally got to go into a Legislature building.
