A Date With Mrs. Navi

Hi, I am Tri from Indonesia. This is a story about how I became or decided to become a local guide. So, back in 2014 I went to Yogyakarta with my grandmother to visit her brother. After a few days staying at home, googled some great places near that city, I decided to go to this local gems/place called “Kalibiru”. I asked around and no one around me has ever went there. But I really want to go. So I asked my friend who happened to be in the same city to go with me, and thankfully she said yes. Then I ask her about that place and she said she only ever heard of it, but never went there too. She became afraid that we couldn’t go there. But then I asked her to believe me and google maps. And again, thankfully she said yes. LOL! So we decided to go there by motorcycle, relying on guidance from Mrs. Navigation (Mrs. Navi) by Google Maps. I put my earphone and just follow the direction from Mrs. Navi for 3 hours. Literally THREE hours, nonstop. There are a few moments when we were hesitant and afraid we wouldn’t get to the destination. But after 3 hours, we finally made it there. And it was AWESOME. We’re so happy and proud of ourselves. We got there just by relying on Mrs. Navi from Google Maps directions. Three hours trip with so many good & bad memories paid with an awesome view of Kalibiru. That means I’ve dated Mrs. Navi for 6 hours (round-trip). From that moment, I decided to become a local guide. I want everyone can find a hidden gems, amazing places, great restaurants by themselves just by relying on Google Maps. I want people to be able to find all the information they need from Google Maps, so they won’t be afraid to travel alone.
