Today, while returning from a regular shopping trip, I stumbled upon an Indian 2-rupee coin featuring Madam Louis Braille’s likeness. As I picked it up, I realized that without my involvement with the Local Guide community, I might have simply used it as change without a second thought.
However, being part of this community, and thanks to my LG family and accessibility champions, I’ve developed a new perspective. They’ve taught me about the importance of accessibility and how these elements can significantly impact the lives of individuals with challenges.
My mentor friend, @TusharSuradkar played a pivotal role in broadening my understanding of Braille, tactile accessibility, and its profound impact. I’m excited to gift him this coin during our next meeting, symbolizing gratitude for the lessons learned.
This coin, which might have otherwise been just another piece of change, now holds a deeper meaning for me. It symbolizes the transformation I’ve undergone from a regular reviewer to a responsible guide, committed to highlighting accessibility features and challenges in my reviews.

Thank you in advance, dear @MathanVibranarayan
It would be a great addition to my collection and for my memories
This coin outdoes all accessibility efforts by the government.
Until now, the 1 Rupee coin used to have a palm with one finger raised.
And the 2 Rupee coin had 2 fingers raised, which was very common.
It helped the blind to identify the coins.
Now the Braille letters are a step ahead and a great tribute to the person.

Your story, dear @MathanVibranarayan, is truly heartwarming and a beautiful example of how even the smallest encounters can lead to powerful realizations.
That 2-rupee coin featuring Louis Braille became more than just currency — it turned into a symbol of awareness, gratitude, and growth. The way you’ve connected this everyday moment with the broader message of accessibility is truly inspiring.
Your gesture of gifting the coin to your mentor @TusharSuradkar is deeply meaningful — it shows how much we all grow when we learn from each other in the Local Guides community.
Thank you for reminding us that #AccessibilityMatters and for being a beacon of inclusivity. Let’s continue to highlight such powerful stories and help build a more inclusive world, one review at a time.
