My feeling is that someone created a new listing a couple of months ago, then someone else, finding the duplicate, suggested an edit to remove the the old one as “not existent”, and Google approved it.
This is a wrong way to proceed, as the correct procedure should be to suggest a merge between the two listings, but unfortunately very often Maps approve that kind of inappropriate edit.
Based on when the edit was performed the team may be able to locate the old edit, and to restore it by performing a merge of the two locations. If the change is recent, maybe @DeniGu can move your reply in a separate thread and escalate the issue. By chance, do you have a link of the removed listing?
In this case maybe it will bot be possible to recover the original place.
Most probably you will have to delete the photo and upload it again in the new listing together with your review. In any case it is better wait for a feedback by @DeniGu , because if the team can recover the original place a new submission will create a weird situation: a double review. This will make a conflict in Maps, because it is not possible to add more than a review in a listing
I took out your conversation from the original thread about the removed waterfall in Spain, and it now appears as a separate post in How-tos. This way it’s easier to follow the topic, just like Ermes suggested.
@Annaelisa Do you have a link to the original business listing of the cafe? The responsible team may not be able to locate the business without it.
Thank you for sharing the screenshots! The second screenshot looks like you added the original business listing on Maps in October 2023, is that correct?
