I have been wondering today are there any local guides from Ireland on this forum ??? Talking about friendship without borders. It’s 17th of March today and that’s a special day in Ireland,my thoughts are going beyond the borders of west Africa to Ireland. It’s Saint Patrick’s Day. It has a nice historical background to it by what my friends from Ireland told me.
Saint Patrick is a christian Missionary who lived during the 5th century and is a patron saint of Ireland. He was accorded the honour of bringing christianity to Ireland. The 17th of March is the anniversary of his death hence the celebration. He is believed to have chased out all the snakes from Ireland as well not sure how true that is .Anyway its a cultural thing in Ireland too celebrate Saint Patrick’s day with a Shamock three native leaves of an Irish clover. According to my friends from Ireland, the day is bright and fair today which makes the celebration nice and fair.
