On the 6th of September, my friends and I—five in total—decided to plan an exciting bike trip. With a spirit of adventure, we set our journey for the very next morning. At the crack of dawn on the 7th, by 6 AM, we were ready. Our journey started from Cox’s Bazar, the coastal town known for its endless sea and sandy shores.
The early morning breeze was refreshing as we pedaled along, with the faint sound of waves in the distance. Our first stop was at the Cox’s Bazar District gate. It felt symbolic, as though we were leaving behind the familiar for an exciting unknown. We stretched our legs, chatted briefly, and snapped a few pictures before mounting our bikes once more.
Next, we continued onward, feeling the thrill of the road beneath our wheels. The sun had started to climb higher in the sky when we reached Amirabad. Here, we took another break, refueling with some local snacks and water. The landscape around us began to shift, becoming more rural, the roads quieter.
Leaving Amirabad, we decided to take a detour for a bit more adventure. We found ourselves riding on a local by-road, Lohagara Road. This path was a little more rugged, with fewer vehicles and more scenery. It was exactly the kind of challenge we were looking for, with bumps, curves, and winding turns.
Soon, we arrived at one of the most beautiful spots on our journey—Tongaboti. Nestled in the hills, Tongaboti felt like an oasis of peace. The rolling hills and lush greenery created a breathtaking view, and we took some time here to simply absorb the beauty around us.
From Tongaboti, our adventure led us to Bandarban, where the terrain became more mountainous. After some time exploring the area, we continued to Kaptai, riding along the local roads that twisted through the hills and valleys. As we neared the Karnafuli River, the excitement built up again. We reached the ferry point, ready to cross the mighty river.
The ferry ride across the Karnafuli was serene. The water stretched out beneath us, and the scenery was stunning. As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow on the river, we felt the sense of accomplishment from our long, eventful journey. The entire day had been filled with thrilling moments, challenging roads, and the beauty of Bangladesh’s countryside. We had experienced everything we set out to, and more.
