It is believed that the Pandavas chose this path to go to heaven. When the Pandavas reached Mana village while going to heaven, they asked for a way from the Saraswati river flowing here. When they did not find a way, Bhima picked up two big rocks and placed them on the river and built a bridge. They crossed the river using this bridge and moved forward. Even today, the Saraswati river flows at that place, which later joins the Alaknanda. That bridge of rocks is still built on the river. This bridge is known as ‘Bhimpul’.
