In 2017, I had the opportunity to enlist at the Institute of Marine Technology in Munshiganj. However, I had no idea where my institute was, and even locals were unfamiliar of Munshiganj. I was quite nervous as the last admission date approached.

I chose to ask my cousin Hasan for assistance. We went to Dhaka together from our neighbourhood, Sherpur. After arriving, Hasan got in touch with Kamrul, another relative, but even he was clueless about Munshiganj’s location.
In 2017,our campus construction was going on
We tried searching for my institute’s name but couldn’t find it because it was a new institute at the time, established in 2015, and was under construction. Fortunately, Kamrul’s friend Muzammel stepped in and searched for the institute on Google Maps. He managed to find the location for us.

Using Google Maps, we finally made our way to Munshiganj. Although the map information was not very detailed back then, it was enough to guide us, and after that, I added some photos of my institute’s location after reaching it. Thanks to Google Maps, I was able to find my institute and complete my admission.In 2022, i completed my Diploma in Engineering from my Institute.

I’m grateful to Google Maps and the local guide who added the institute’s location. Without this help, I might not have been able to find my way in 2017.
