A 6th new badge NEW CONTRIBUTOR !!!

Hello dear Local guides,

Normally on our Google Maps profiles,there are 5 badges to be unlocked aside the waldo one which was ceremonial at the time.

Here is good news now,I have just noticed this new badge on my Google Maps profile this morning. I decided to check around and I realised that other local guides have also achieved this on their profiles as well. It’s cute I like it. Am excited maybe not the first to notice it,but the first to share it here on connect.

If you haven’t noticed,please check and see beautiful it hangs on your profile. Thank you Google Maps team for the new decoration and acknowledgement of our voluntary work on the maps.

This is inspiring and making us want to contribute more and more. Happy guiding keep Mapping and keep active.

Congratulations @SholaIB on new contributor badge, even i saw it on my profile yesterday later in evening, was curious about how did i unlocked it, still didn’t figure out, is there anyone here who can tell us how we earned it ? Just curious to know.

When i searched for New contributor badge related stuff, this was the only post i saw here, thanks for informing about it to everyone.

Hi. Congrats on unlocking it. Could you pls explain how to unlock “answer”? I’ve tried a lot of things and I couldn’t seem to unlock it.

I’ve tried answer Q&A but that didn’t work. I’ve tried editing features of that place as well. As well as leaving review and when the image pop up at “contribute” asking to name the pic to help others, didn’t work as well.

Can you or anyone who knows how help me out?

To unlock “answer”, i started to search the name of a place first. And then on the right screen, you’ll see the profile of the place you searched, and you will find a link with anchor text “Know this place?”. If u clicked the link, you’ll get some questions like “is this place kid-friendly” etc. The answer usually sort of multiple choices like “yes/no/not sure”. In the application, i think the question will pop up on ur screen. Note, that not every place will give u questions.
