It was a case that I became a Local Guide. I didn’t know this program, I made a review on Google Maps and then I received an email from Google to join LG program. It was two years ago. Now I’m a level 8 LG and I partecipated to Connect Live 2018 last year. I started posting photos and reviews of food, mainly. This was the aim of my first year as LG.
When I travel, I love to try new food and visit monuments; but I was asking myself ‘‘What can I do more? What can I do besides reviews and photos, in my city?’’ I think (and hope) to help my city increasing tourism by adding missing informations to monuments and historical sites, such as opening hours, closing days and telephone numbers. I heard a lot of stories about the few tourists that come to visit my city, that they found an historical site closed and they didn’t know it was. When I travel in a new city, I usually see a lot of tourists looking at (without offense) four stones. I live in a really beautiful place, with a big archaeological heritage of Greek and Roman culture, and amazing conformation of the territory due to the volcanoes of the Phlegrean Fields. In my city, Pozzuoli (near Naples, Italy), there is the third biggest Roman amphitheater in the world, the Flavio amphitheater (similar to the Colosseum of Rome). Did you know this? Not, for sure. This is the reason why I share reviews, photos and informations of monuments and historical sites, to let people know my city. I’m grateful for the new feature of lists, because I think it can help me a lot with my purpose. I created a list about the most important historical sites of my city, with all the informations you need to know… but the work it’s never over! Now I am also trying to report all the photos that are not taken in the right monument… a very frustrating job!
I live in the city where pizza was born, Naples. I love to try all the ‘‘pizzerie’’, making reviews about strengths and weaknesses (cooking level, thickness, easy to digest etc…). I also love to take food pictures, mainly of pizza and sushi.
