Where are you from?
I’m originally from Mykolaiv, Ukraine, and currently living in Italy. -
When did you join Connect?
I joined Connect in April 2018. -
How did you learn about Connect in the first place?
I received an invitation email to apply for the Connect Live 2018 event, and it included a link to join Connect. That’s how I discovered the platform. -
What time of the day/week do you like to check what’s new on Connect?
I usually check Connect at the end of the day. Sometimes, I also visit the forum during the day whenever I have a free moment. -
Have you attended or hosted a meet-up on Connect?
Absolutely! I’ve hosted and attended many face-to-face and online meet-ups. Most of all I love hosting and attending Meetups! It’s the most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide!
I’ve traveled thousands of kilometers and even applied for a visa to attend EuroMeetups.
Before, during the covid period, online meet-ups helped us to stay connected on a global level. Together with @KashifMisidia we hosted the Accessibility Online Meetups Series. We talked about how just a few words in a review, or photos on Google Maps can really help people.
We got to know each other better, shared experiences, and built strong friendship across borders. Meeting those friends in person later was so emotional! -
What’s your favorite moment on Connect?
My favorite moments are definitely during the Connect Live events. Being together with other Local Guides and celebrating our global community is always unforgettable!

Tell us about one Connect feature that you love.
I really enjoy the creative and fun challenges that are regularly shared on Connect. They’re a great way to stay motivated and inspired! -
What one feature would you add to Connect if you could?
I really miss the “Friday’s Favorites” posts we used to have. They featured a weekly roundup of the best content on Connect, and I’d love to see them return. -
Tell us about one thing you’re planning to share or do on Connect this year.
As I mentioned, I love both hosting and attending meet-ups. This year, I’ve attended some online meet-ups, EuroMeetup 2025 in Lucca, hosted a live Local Guides meet-up in Florence, and I’m planning to participate in more online meet-ups later this year.
From virtual connection to real friendship, Connect has built bridges for us across the globe! Here’s to many more stories, smiles, and unforgettable moments together!
