বাংলাদেশ লোকাল গাইড দেখতে দেখতে আট বছর অতিক্রম করল। মার্চ 7 2015 আমরা বর্ষপূর্তি উদযাপন করি এবং সেখানে আমাদের প্রথম অফিশিয়াল মিটাপ আয়োজন করা হয়েছিল।
সময়ের সাথে প্রোগ্রামের অনেক কিছু বদল হয়েছে সাথে আমরাও বদল হবার চেষ্টা করেছি যুক্ত করেছি সমগ্র বাংলাদেশের আনাচে-কানাচে লোকাল গাইড দেরকে বর্তমানে সাত হাজারেরও অধিক সদস্য রয়েছে আমাদের ফেসবুক গ্রুপে।
গুগল ম্যাপ, সামাজিক উন্নয়ন , স্মল বিজনেস, নারী উন্নয়ন মূলক কর্মকান্ড সহ বিভিন্ন সাম্প্রতিক বিষয়গুলো নিয়ে আমরা মিটআপ আয়োজন করে থাকি বাংলাদেশ।
আমরা নির্দ্বিধায় বলতে পারি পৃথিবীতে যতগুলো দেশ কিংবা শহরে লোকাল গাইড কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করে থাকে সব থেকে বড় এবং অ্যাক্টিভ গ্রুপ হচ্ছে এই বাংলাদেশ লোকাল গাইড যা শুধু আপনাদের অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রম এবং ভালোবাসার ফসল। ২০১৫ থেকে ২০২২ সাল পর্যন্ত এখন পর্যন্ত ১৮০ টি মিট আপ সম্পন্ন করেছে ।
বিগত আট বছরে আমরা যতগুলো প্রোগ্রাম আয়োজন করেছি সবগুলোই আমাদের নিজস্ব অর্থায়নে এবং নিজস্ব টিমের সহযোগিতায়। আমাদের কর্মকাণ্ডে দেড় শতাধিক এর অধিক অংশগ্রহণের রেকর্ড রয়েছে মিটআপ গুলোতে।
ভবিষ্যতে আরও বড় কিছু করার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে আপনাদের সহযোগিতায়। বাংলাদেশ লোকাল গাইড এর বিগত দিনের কর্মকাণ্ড গুলো নিচের লিংকগুলো থেকে দেখতে পারেন।

Bangladesh Local Guides Community at a Glance
The Bangladesh Local Guides Community is an online platform that was launched in 2014 under the name “Bangladesh Insider” and has been operating under the name “Bangladesh Local Guides” since 2015. It is one of the largest and oldest active communities on the Local Guides platform, with the main goal of providing accurate and beautiful Bangladeshi Google Maps information and highlighting Bangladeshi content on the Local Guides Connect Forum.
The main objective of this community is to provide accurate and beautiful information on Bangladeshi locations through Google Maps, as well as to highlight Bangladeshi content on the Local Guides Connect Forum. In addition to map-related activities, the community is also focused on creating contemporary content and conducts various charitable activities, including Ramadan month-based charity, tree planting programs, renewable energy-based activities, and support for women entrepreneurs.
The community has also organized several map-based workshops in partnership with various government ministries, and government and private educational institutions to improve map accuracy and raise awareness about map usage.
The Facebook-centric group currently has more than 8,000 members, while the previous Google Plus group had more than 10,000 members before it closed in 2017. Bangladesh Local Guides Community Founder
Mahabub Hasan is a tech enthusiast with over 12 years of experience in various Google platforms. His journey as a volunteer community builder started in 2011 with the Google Technology User Team (GTUG) and later continued with Google Developer Group, Google Map Maker, Google Educator Group, Google Local Guide, and Google Crowdsource.
Mahabub contributed to the Google Local Guides and started the Bangladesh chapter of Google Local Guide in 2014, where he served as the founding moderator. In 2017, 2018, and 2019, he participated in the annual Local Guide summit held in California and was categorized the Best Souvenir, Hashtag Royalty, and Most Answers Amount in Google Maps, respectively. In 2020 he was honored as Guiding Star Community Builder category from this platform, Also In 2021, he was honored as Meet Up Champion by the Local Guide platform.
