Google Maps Desktop Road Editor was launched in India in July last year. Just then, I found what I was looking for and started adding roads to the map to connect cities to nearby villages on Google Maps.
I am passionate about adding missing Roads to Google Maps because I believe everyone should have access to accurate and updated maps. When roads are missing from Google Maps, it can make it difficult for people to find their way, especially on roads that connect to remote areas. Often incorrectly marked roads can also be dangerous, as people are unaware of the road’s existence and may end up driving on dangerous or impassable roads. Such roads should be updated, and I contribute to this great cause.
I have added 7000+ roads in over 36 countries, from small villages to large cities, though I have never been to those countries!! Since all the areas are clearly visible on Satellite images on Google Maps, it is straightforward and helpful to identify improper road connectivity.
I am proud of the work I have done to add missing roads on Google Maps. I know it has made a difference to people who live in those areas and want to access those roads. It also helps to make Google Maps more accurate, which ultimately results in people reaching their desired destination.

I didn’t imagine it was going to be this fun when we started. Nevertheless we are enjoying it so much and with you being the top man or one of the top men we are confident to reach our 50k target soon.Anyway my ambition,hnmm !? I will soon be on 5k in a few days so maybe 10k should be my next target as well but maybe by next year all being well.

Wow that’s a huge achievement baiyya @NareshDarji I didn’t know if we could add roads from satellite images. Definitely will try it that way. I think it’s more feasible. Long way to go.

7000+ is a huge number itself. You encouraged me to work on Road Mapper and I have come close to 2300+ around there. I haven’t tried on Google Maps though, but surely will try that.
