I’ve been contributing as a Google Local Guide for the past 7 months, and it’s been an amazing experience so far. My photos have received over 1.6 million views, and my location edits have crossed 1.8 million views. Seeing that so many people have interacted with my contributions makes me feel proud and motivated.
I love exploring new places, and whenever I visit somewhere—whether it’s a restaurant, shop, park, or historical site—I make sure to update information on Google Maps. I upload photos, write reviews, correct inaccurate details, and answer questions, so that people can find accurate, helpful, and updated information before visiting.
My main goal is to help others discover places more easily and make better decisions based on real experiences. It feels good to know that someone might choose a great restaurant or avoid a bad experience because of the information I shared.
This work has also helped me build a habit of noticing small details, being more observant, and thinking about how technology can be used to support communities. I believe small efforts like these make a big impact in the long run.
Overall, being a Local Guide is something I truly enjoy, and I plan to keep contributing as much as I can. It’s not just about maps—it’s about making the world a little easier to navigate for everyone.
