Hello World!
I am Kavin Kadhir, best known as KK among my friends.
I have been a local guide for the past one and half years. While I am writing this post, I am a level 7 local guide already and this must say you the level of dedication I have for being one! I grew in a township environment, where there were hardly any big restaurants or outlets for group outings! The one thing that constantly kept me engaged from my child hood is reading books and playing a sport (or any board game with my friends for that matter). This stuck with me even as I grew up.
Eventually, I moved to various places in India and I wondered If I could find places that could provide me with games+books+good food!
And I started my venture of finding such places in Chennai (the city where I am residing currently) and to my surprise found a handful of them! So, whenever I would want to go on a solo visit to a restaurant or with my friends, I would just take them to these places apart from the various other places I have ventured.
So, if you are in Chennai or will be visiting Chennai in the near future, I would strongly suggest you take time to go to these places. Surprisingly, there are couple of restaurants that allow pets too! And, and, if are a pet owner, you are most welcome to these places. I have listed a handful of those restaurants that I have visited in Chennai that met my criteria and have listed them in no particular order:
-
Ciclo cafe, Kotturpuram (Cycle themed, contains sports magazine and lots of cycling gears)
-
Convo cafe, Adayar (has lots and lots of board games, they have locker facility for mobile phones to keep you engaged with food and guess what! They provide discount for doing that)
-
Smoothie Bar, Alwarpet (Again they offer board games and Novels and short story books that cater to the child in you!)
-
Blind Chemistry, Besant Nagar (they have good collection of books for nerds!)
-
Craveyard cafe, Thiruvanmiyur (Board games and they allow pets inside)
-
The Farm, Semmancheri (They allow pets and take us on a free tour to their farm from which they get their produce)
-
Writer’s Cafe, Taramani (they have a tie up with Higginbothams book store and you could explore those book racks while you wait for your order)
P.S I have only added a handful of them and If you happen to come across any other similar places, please respond back. Your suggestions are most welcome!
