5000 year old lord vishnu Temple

Keshawraj is a avatar of lord Vishnu and temple is built by Pandavas around 5000 yrs ago old temple legacy can be found in this place & that’s why people from far off places visit this sacred place .Has a trek of 200 steps.Serene, calm and peaceful temple situated near Dapoli.

Location: Shree Keshavraj Temple, Dapoli,konkan

Check out my review with photos of Shree Keshavraj Temple Mandir , Asud on Google Maps

This temple was built by Pandavas and now maintained by local community. This deity in this temple is Shree Vishnu who is worshipped in the name of Lord Keshavraj. The idol in this temple is of black rock & the garbhagriha is maintained as per Hindu traditions. The light of lamps reflects from the eyes of the gods idol & give a charismatic feel. Only way to reach this temple is by walking around 1km from the village. The walk is through a jungle and a river crossing which gives a feel of nature trail. The water flowing from the stone cow mouth was cold and refreshing. It was a blissful experience that I will always cherish.

I walked along the stream and climbed the steps to the temple.

Khed Railway Station is the closest railway station situated at a distance of 34.4 km. Once you reach Asud, take the road leading to the village where the temple is located. Clear sign boards along the way will guide you to the temple. Dapoli City is about 7 km from the temple

Hi @Praniketmore !
Sometimes I am amazed at how long certain human works can last, also knowing that they did not have the same knowledge and machinery that we use today!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

Bye,
David

Nice photos!! Keshavraj is my “kuldaivat” and I have been visiting this place since my childhood. I’m a wildlife photographer and have keen interest in indian birds. Keshvraj is too good a place for birding as well. In my last visit about a week back - I recorded the beautiful calls of Indian Pitta (नवरंग) bird; which you typically see in Konkan only during the summer months. do check out this video if you get time :slightly_smiling_face:
