500 Fake GMB Listings

I have my friend who have loan agency all over USA, he has found his competitors have 500+ GMB Fake Listings in all over US. They have images of street / garage / gas-stations / backdoor in their GMBs, there have no actual physical address.

First my question, is how they have got that much fake GMBs approved?

Whom to contact with those fake GMB Listings ?

Already contact Google Fake Listing form but they are not taking actions.

Dear @nCY1162088 ,
Welcome to Local Guides Connect, the official platform for Googe Local Guides.

Here is an official post that informs you what you can do as a Local Guide: How to identify and report fraud on Google Maps.

It appears that you are already fully aware of the Google My Business program and found one of the correct ways to report violating GMB members. I don’t know when you or your friend submitted the form that you are referring to, but all I can say is that you should not expect quick results.

When talking about these serious violations, in particular when it is reported by a competitor, it requires thorough investigation and that takes time. In addition, there might be a job queue with lots of similar reports that were filed before yours, which would add further time.

I sincerely hope the issue gets resolved. Best wishes,

JeroenM

Hi @nCY1162088

I have a few more tips in addition to @JeroenM s excellent advice.

My experience with getting results from the complaints form is also not very impressive.

But if you compiled a spreadsheet with the correct links to all or some of the fake listings to be added to your form submission, then reaching out to the Google My Business team via twitter or Facebook can be surprisingly effective. You can do this in private on both platforms. This will allow you to add a link to the before-mentioned spreadsheet. This could potentially speed up the process. They usually respond within a few days. But be honest also to mention that you already have used the complaints form.

Best wishes

Great tip @MortenCopenhagen ,

I think the GMB team will particularly like bulk reports with a whole spreadsheet they can work with. Personally, I would not bother their time with individual reports via that channel, as it would be inefficient for them to handle individual reports that way.

I have uploaded spreadsheet with all listings but only first 3 are de-activated. They haven;t checked another.

If only option to submit listings via form, then what use of Suggest Edit option. They are not even take care of 100 requests that I have done last week, no edit done at all.

Hi @nCY1162088 welcome to local guides connect and thank you for reaching out.

To answer your question, you can report using the method what @JeroenM and @MortenCopenhagen have already shared with you which is contact the Google My Business team directly with the proof or links from the spreadsheet you mentioned, this process requires a lot of time to investigate as mentioned but is easy if you have a list of links. You can also report it here by creating a post which is what you did as mentioned on How to identify and report fraud on Google Maps. Our Google Moderators will respond to you shortly.

Since you are new here, I would like to share with you our 14 helpful tips for using Connect and if you have any questions just reach out to our Help Desk for more information. I will advise you to introduce yourself, by firstly reading on the following post how others introduce them selves and do the same by commenting below the post, see this post on Introduce Yourself - February 2020.
