This is a big deal for me.
About 10 years ago I had the misfortune of having to go on disability benefits from my province. I had become unable to work and I very quickly fell into a depression as I felt useless and struggled with severe loss in income.
A few years ago I used street view to take a 360 image to show a friend where I was. I can’t remember why but I ended up uploading it to maps.
Then I got a notification a while later that I got 1000 views. I uploaded more… And 10,000. Things progressed quickly, and people started to compliment my photos when I shared them with them.
By the time 250,000 hit I thought… Maybe I can do something still!
It’s been very rough but at 500000, I’m going to now apply for a grant for photography equipment and start my own business. There are organizations to help me get there that weren’t there years ago. I am crossing my fingers.
