I like to travel and explore places, but also shopping! HAH! you dealing with the Mom local guides, so now, Instead of exploring other city and countries, I found unique ways to explore my town, Jakarta.

For this purpose I explore markets in Jakarta, and Jakarta has a big list of markets to visit, and some of them very specific markets. These are top 5 Markets you should visit based on their uniqueness and function!

Here is 24 hours flower market. They also provide fresh flowers and artificial. Also you can find decorations for wedding. For me, I need glamorous 360 photos, so in here, I got beautiful photos and videos.

Oh I like funky bracellet from stones, so this is my paradise. In here you can find so many gems. even the fake ones. And you can see how the crafter made and clean the gems.

You can find lots of stationary in bulk price, and you must buy in dozen or wholesale. You can also find crafter’s raw materials.

The unique thing about this market they open from dawn(2AM) till morning(8AM). This market specialized for cookies, pastries, and traditional snacks.

This Market specialized for toys. PARENTS ALERT! dont bring your kids here, they will ask lots of toys. All toys variaous, from toddlers toys, kids even for adults. I came here, just to take photos and videos, but not buy toys.

All of these market are unique, serve as their purpose, they tend to sell to people that willing to have business in that type of products, not end users.

I know, you think, you have to bring lots of money to go here. Cause markets, its where you shop and spend your money. But these markets, are also good places to hunt photos. So pack your camera, and water. Dont forget, wear mask and keep sanitizer around, then GO!

@Ddimitra The markets are not divided according to the goods which are sold there in my country. If only foods/not foods. Some markets are more specialized in some kinds of goods than others, for example if you want to buy a winter coat, you will choose some market from those where your choice will be the greatest.

I have known about flower markets or toys markets only here at Connect. It’s so interesting, how various our cultures are.

You can compare your market with one of ours, it’s famous market, though not the largest now.
