"5 Shades of Blue"

This is the beach in Veradero,Cuba… it is amazing…how clear the beach is and the fine white sand. To escape the Canadian winter, I took a Transat Air all-inclusive 8 days vacation in Cuba. I was trying to be economical and took the least expensive package that would accommodate me in the resort called Villa Karey. The resort is a villa type. Separate villas for accommodation unlike the typical hotel building type. Other people who already travelled to Cuba already said that don’t have high expectations when it comes to food quality and just enjoy Cuba as it is.

From the airport, Transat Air through the shuttle bus service Cubatur, picked up guests. On the bus, they gave passengers really nice cold beer then drop us off to which hotel we are accommodated. Upon arriving in Villa Karey, the staff were very helpful and had drinks ready and snacks (already included in the all-inclusive) and asked for anything that us guests would be needing in our villa. The staff services in Villa Karey was good… and they have Tennis Courts which made me happier and the recreation manager named Pedro play tennis, so he would play tennis with guests who want to. BUT… again… don’t expect so much with the food quality… I was always eating out my whole stay. I don’t drink so much alcohol so the bar does not really attract me that much but if you drink, then you would be happy coz it is unlimited in the bar. The snack bar is open anytime. You can ask for snacks anytime… but again… don’t expect so much with the food. My friends who went there and went for more expensive hotels showed me photos of how great the catering was… but anyways, I wanted to enjoy more of the outside community than just being in the resort anyways, so hotel amenities did not really matter much to me coz I just get to the villa at the end of my day and sleep.

The accommodation are separate villas. There are housekeeping services that visits and clean once a day.

All the villas are by the beach so you kind of have your exclusive space in front of your villa.

And Villa Karey is towards the tip of Veradero so it is not really that publicly populated.

The surroundings is very tropical with coconut trees and tropical flowers and plants.

There are sailboats and catamarans in the resort which are free inclusive for guests anytime.

You can feed the Pelicans around the resort. Just give a tip to the man who takes care of the Pelicans.

There are local ladies walking around the beach side offering to braid your hair for 10.00 dollars.

When you wake up in the morning this is the view in front of your villa. The beachfront is busy with locals on their boats. You can also pay them to take you around with their boats.

This is the beachside of Villa Karey. Look at the different shades of blue.

Beautiful stretch of white sand beach away from the people traffic in the other beaches.

This is the Villa. The Villas are painted in green.

View from the dining hall. On the far end are the Cabanas and Beach side bar and restaurant. The far end is kind of the public area. Where the resorts amenities are as well as beach equipments.

There was a day that it was colder and so windy. This is where the cabanas and beachside bar is.

I borrowed a bike from a local and biked around. This is in Villa Karey.

Along the beach there are also people that go around selling coconuts, accessories, artworks, offering services and other things but they’re not supposed to bother guests in non-public areas so resort staff would always come around and ask them to leave. Overall, if you want a very solitary beach experience with easy access to the town center, Villa Karey is a perfect place just don’t expect so much of the meals and hotel amenities.

Just for sleeping and chillaxing. It is the perfect place.Afterall, you don’t really go that far and spend that money to be just staying in the resort.

Staying on the resort alone would have been enough… but of course, it wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the local community, buying some artwork and souvenirs, enjoying the music, riding the horse coaches and vintage cars, trying local cuisine… I will share it in a separate post.

Wonderful blue sea :ocean: and great snaps :camera_flash:

Did you shot them using the timer :timer_clock: or some person accompanied you? the perspective is perfect :ok_hand:

I have added Cuba to my bucket list meanwhile… :cuba:

Happy guiding

@TusharSuradkar in the photos that are not selfie… someone took them for me. The views I took myself…

Thank you… Cuba is a nice place, but if you are only staying in Veradero and not going somewhere else like Havana… take a shorter trip package. I took the 8 days all-inclusive and I feel like it was too long.
