Brooklyn is known for a lot of great things, but the food here? IT’S AMAZING! sure you have a lot of new places, beautiful gourmet restaurants etc., But the ones I have listed are Brooklyn Icons - The only places that have stranded the test of time and held on to the traditional feel, taste and smell of what Brooklyn really is. Surethere’s others, but these spots are historical and are my favorites. A “Must Go To” if you ever com by… Fuhgeddaboudit!!!
NATHANS FAMOUS HOT DOGS
So you’re in Coney Island, It’s hot and sunny: you take a ride on “The Cyclone Roller-Coaster”, sneak a kiss with your significant other on the “Wonder Wheel”, take a swim, buy a cool tee shirt… TIME TO EAT nothing beats getting a few hot dogs, some fries and a cold beer at “Nathans” Oh man… The snap of biting into one of those hots dogs!!! I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! Been there since 1916 for a reson, go find out for yourself!
JUNIORS CHEESECAKE
I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid, there is no other cheesecake like this in the country! Sure we have other amazing food here, but if you haven’t tried Juniors Cheesecake from the original Juniors in Brooklyn… it’s just some cream cheese shaped like a cake.
ROLLNROASTER
“We’re not so fast, RollNRoaster” great jingle that has been on the TV here in Brooklyn since 1970. One of the best places to meet up with friends and family. Best thing on the menu? Roast beef sandwich, of course! My favorites here are the roast beef with cheese, buffalo wings, fries and the corn fritters. Order over 35 dollars in food, they give you a freed medium size pizza, which is pretty good!
PETER LUGER STEAK HOUSE
I remember meeting baseball players here from both the Yankees and The Mets who ate here years ago. All kinds of famous people love the steak here for good reason: “The make a tender, juicy, delicious exceptional steak” Along with that steak, get the creamed spinach and, my favorite “The Bacon”. It’s not just a piece of bacon. And the Martinis? Always good! Once you go, you’ll come back… Trust me.
L&B SPUMONI GARDENS
spent a lot of hot summer night here with my friends when I was in high school, and now that I live a few blocks away, I grab a pie in the winter now and then. This is one spot I don’t think the locals are going to give up that easy… Too good! They have amazing spumoni, great pizza and even a classy sit down restaurant with some of the best Italian dishes! ALL 3 IN ONE PLACE! My recommendations? Get the square (Sicilian) slice, don’t put anything on it, you wont need it - Pistachio spumoni and “The Seafood Salad” - As for the restaurant? EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS! That’s why this place is a secret (Come on now!!!)
Now don’t ask me “Luke, where’s a good place to eat in Brooklyn?” I just told you. Of course I have more…
But I can’t give away all my secrets. ![]()
