5 lists we love from Tokyo

From shopping in Harajuku for an exciting new look to dedicating a day to eating only “kawaii” food, there’s no shortage of unique things to do in Tokyo. (You can even be a samurai for a day!) As one of the largest cities in the world, it can be challenging to sort through all of the options. Luckily, Local Guides in Tokyo make it easier by sharing their knowledge on Google Maps.

One way they’re helping others discover amazing local spots is by making great lists. Here are five lists from Local Guides in Tokyo that we love.

  1. Recommended lunch on weekdays around Kawasaki station: Near Kawasaki station around lunchtime? Local Guide Hiroyoshi Imaoka knows where you should go.
  2. Climbing Wall: Local Guide _v mako has put together a comprehensive list of climbing walls around Tokyo that are good for climbers of all types — from young children to experienced adults.
  3. Shops where you can buy delicious sake (Tokyo): Local Guide 青木秀二郎 recommends these spots for buying great sake that might be hard to get elsewhere.
  4. Tokyo’s Best Curry Restaurants: In the mood for Japanese curry? Check out Local Guide Danny Young’s list of his favorite restaurants that serve it.
  5. Delicious coffee shops around Omotesandō: Omotesandō is, as Local Guide Shingo OKAMOTO explains, “a fierce battlefield” when it comes to coffee shops. Follow this list for Shingo’s best of the best.

Have you made a list of the best coffee shops in your city? Link to it below and we might feature it on social or here on Connect! And, if you find yourself in Tokyo anytime soon, follow these photography tips for capturing the best shots.

Live JAPAN PERFECT GUIDE” is one of the most helpful website for the tourist to Japan. According to the latest article, it says "Don’t Leave Japan Without Buying These 10 Items At Daiso Harajuku."

Yes, A lot of items in 100Yen shop are good for the souvenirs or will be your own memory during the trip. Daiso is a large franchise(3,000 or more) of 100Yen shops founded in Japan. They have a range of over 100,000 products. Many of their products are house-hold items such as kitchenware and cleaning products and etc… The other day, I went for shopping to the nearest Daiso from my town. Let’s have a look at the top 5 &+1 selling at Daiso Ario Yao. Of course, +1 item is my recommendation.

1. Whitening Essence 30ml &120ml – They really work and moisturize your skin, too!

Which sizes do you prefer, bigger or smaller?

2. Vacuum Seal Storage Bag (Large 60x50 cm size) – Make Extra Space In Your Suitcase And Store Bulky Winter Clothes!

In winter season it may be more useful.

3. Puff Sponge Detergent 80ml – Get Rid Of Dirt And Grime!

Sorry, I haven’t used this item. It’s for women only.

4. Sushi Erasers – So Cute And Realistic, You’ll Want To Eat Them!

Do not eat! very realistic sushi erasers.

5. Seaweed And Wasabi – A Match Made In Heaven! Crunchy Seaweed Wasabi Soy Sauce Chips, 35g

.

I don’t believe this item is in Top 5 selling. I like Wasabi and Soy Sauce, because I am a typical Japanese man. How about you?

6. Boiled Egg Hole Holder – A boiled egg maker.

Caption; +1 item, my recommendation.

.

A small needle makes a hole and then boil the egg. The shell becomes easy to peel. Try it!

Your next journey is Tokyo, Japan? That is MOTTAINAI! There are plenty of 100Yen shops, like as Daiso, Seriya, Can Do…etc. all over the country.

I’ve made Lists of Places “DAISO around Ikoma” for the tourist to Ikoma Mountain Range, amazing places. Check it out!

Thank you for sharing @user_not_found this interesting information about Daiso. When I was in Japan the Daiso store was one of my favorite to spent free time.

My favorite store probably being the one in Harajuku on the popular Takeshita-dori. It has four stories and about 980 m² full of colorful products for every part of your life. Daiso currently carries over 70,000 different products and new ones are added every month. So far the quality of everything I bought there was very good and the wide range of products make it easy to find something one wants (no matter if really needed or not ^^”).
