Nicknamed “the city that never sleeps,” New York City has plenty of diversions for both its eight-and-a-half million residents and the 60 million people that visit every year. It’s safe to say, without some local knowledge, NYC can quickly become overwhelming. Luckily, Local Guides are here to help by sharing Google Maps reviews, photos, and lists showcasing the city’s best.
Here are five lists we love from Local Guides with great ideas for locals and tourists alike on where to go around New York City.
Best Pizza in Bushwick: New York City is the place to be if you love pizza. This list by Local Guide Gabriele Grassia focuses on the wood-fired variety in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bushwick.
Bars with Music in Long Beach: Escape the bustling city with a trip to the beach. When you’ve had your fill of sand, sun, and surf, keep the good vibes going by heading to one of these bars with live music recommended by Local Guide michelle mitchell.
Best Burgers in NYC: An American staple, burger spots can be found every few blocks in New York City. Keep this list of favorite burger by Local Guide Derrick W Dover handy and you’ll never end up with a mediocre one.
Tango in NYC: Ready to tango? Find a spot to get your dance on from Local Guide Wenyi Zhou’s list of places that host tango dance classes and milongas (tango-dancing events).
Best Mulled Wine / Gluhwein in NYC: Though it’s currently sweltering in New York City, save this list by Local Guide Venera Varbanova for when the weather turns frigid and the only option is to warm up with a steaming glass of mulled wine.

enjoying pizzas is not just giving into gluttony but enjoying the experience with fine wine, then this award winning restaurant at Hyatt Regency is sure to impress you. The traditional wood-fired Italian pizzas are simple, rustic and flavours at their best. Our favourite here is the pizza with the same name as the restaurant, which comes topped with roasted garlic, goat’s cheese, pesto sauce and sun-dried tomatoes.
It’s amazing that there’s a list of Tango in NYC!! I had no idea there would be so many places. Thank you for sharing @kmajewski , I would have never known otherwise! And thank you to Wenyi Zhou for creating it
NYC indeed has great pizza, sometimes I miss it. In Buenos Aires we have great pizza too (I think) but there are two different styles, and they are both different from the way pizza is made in NYC.
