Almost 9 years without traveling overseas, since our first born showed up in our lives. Finally, we have found the courage to take him to a short vacation, to Rhodes, Greek. Since our 8 years old is “a little” selective when it comes to food, we were aware of the fact that we are kind of limited to Italian restaurants, since he can and does live on Pastas. Therefore, I have made my homework, before taking off, booking our dinners, for each evening, choosing the best known Italian restaurants in Rhodes. The first was Capricci Ristorante.
Well, the first evening was amazing. Capricci Ristorante is a familial restaurant, giving you the feeling as if you were at home, with the best Italian food we have ever ate. The staff, was charming, led by the head of the family and the restaurant itself, which was the first to accept us and serve our dinner. Having this amazing experience, gave us a wonderful feeling in our first evening in Rhodes, Greece, and we headed back to our hotel with great expectations for the days to come.
Our next evening started in the next restaurant (without mentioning the name) , which was great. Yet, we did feel something we couldn’t explain as for the previous evening, and we found ourselves canceling the whole 3 next evenings reservations, as we already knew that we would visit Capricci daily, for the rest of our vacation. Yup, we really ended up heading back there, daily, getting a warm welcome by the family of Capricci Ristorante. We had our nicks - “Senior, seniorita and Seniorito” with smiles, and we felt like we were really a part of the family.
Came to our last evening in Rhodes, we felt like having to say goodbye to our close family. The farewell was very touching, as if we really had to say goodbye to our family…It ended up with warm words, warm hugging, and hope to meet up again some day. The ride back to the hotel was silenced, three of us were…
We would definitely be back to Rhodes, definitely back to Capricci, since we did became a part of the family, as we all felt. If you happen to drop by and pay a visit to Rhodes, you must not leave the island without paying a visit to Capricci Ristorante, having some great food, and giving our best warm regards. Really heartening to know that there are still such people in the world.
