Today is the 4th of May, the day that The Netherlands commemorates all civilians and members of the armed forces of the Kingdom of the Netherlands who have died in wars or peacekeeping missions since the beginning of the Second World War. At 8 pm our country stands still for two minutes. As a sign or moarning, all flags are half-mast, for example this one next to the statue in Rotterdam, which commemorates killed Rotterdam resistance fighters in World War II and Rotterdam casualties in general.
