I’m not a vegan, but I just enjoy not having meat every once in a while.
Finding good restaurants in Taipei is never a difficult task, here you get all kinds of food at all range just in a small area.
Here I’d like to recommend some awesome vegan places that make me don’t mind going vegan at all.
Start with the cheap ones:
- 森丼日式蔬食 Sun Don Vegan Japanese Food
First I wouldn’t say it’s typical Japanese cuisine, it’s more like a Taiwanese-Japnaese place.
Hands down one of the best foods I have ever had. Yep, that’s right, just food, not ranking for vegan only. The sushi here is amazing, the egg was perfect, too. I’ve been there twice in two days because I just couldn’t forget the flavor of the food after the first day…
And…and… it’s super cheap!! We got a vegan shrimp roll curry rice, mixed sushi, asparagus roll and a tamagoyaki for only 430NTD (less than 15USD).
The restaurant looks beyond mediocre from the outside, but you can not miss it just because of the look!

- 小豆苗素食自助餐
It’s a vegan buffet! I love that it’s a buffet and you can just decide how much food you want and as various as possible. They have a wide variety of options, cold to hot, light to heavy… all in all the ingredients are very fresh and I’ve never had a bad plate here. (been here more than 4 times)
After picking out all your food, go to the counter and then they’ll weigh your food. If you’d like to have unlimited amount of rice, porridge, soup and dessert, just pay extra $20 then it’s all yours.
- 貝多蕾納 Blossom Rena Vegan Cafe
Lovely environment, more expensive then the above 2 restaurants, but trust me, it’s worth every extra penny.
The other day we had kimchi tofu bowl and mushroom lunch set.
I got to say I’m surprised that vegan kimchi can be just as good (maybe even better) than regular kimchi. The owners made kimchi by themselves and it was too tasty we ordered another single plate of Kimchi. All the vegetables tasted like they just harvested from their backyard. Super fresh and healthy. If you get a chance, you must try their Kimchi.
- Plants
Last but not least, the most expensive out of all, but at the same time the most exquisite.
They use all kinds of super foods and high quality ingredients, which explain why this place is a lot more pricey. You can also tell that they designed every plate carefully just so that the flavor blends perfectly when you taste of spoonful of every ingredient in the plate.
Without a doubt a nice place to have conversations and enjoy vegan dish with friends. Feels comfortable and burden-free after the meal.
