360° shots on Street View Studio are not being updated on the map.

Hello everyone,

We offer our customers 360° indoor shots with our Insta360 Pro 2. However, we have noticed that the street view images are outdated, with streets that are no longer accurate or buildings that have been constructed.

Therefore, we have decided to take new street view shots to update Street View. We started in a neighborhood in Switzerland where we noticed that a building was newly constructed in 2020. We captured this neighborhood (47.521469,7.702349) and successfully uploaded it to Google Street View Studio. The images were also accepted.

As you can see here, all images were processed and accepted. However, the street is still not up-to-date on Google Maps when viewed.

Currently, in the background where the vehicle is parked (left image with marker), there should be a building visible (see below).

Please be informed that support for Google Streetview is no longer available here on Connect.

Learn more in this update by Googler DeniGu: Questions about Street View?

The new help center consists of some articles and a few forms. There is no real support available for virtual tour makers.

It is known that Google Maps will show 360 images from the official Streetview cars over those uploaded by users. Even when the Streetcar car images are older.

Hallo @360Blick , welcome to Connect and thanks for asking.

As you can read in the official help page Capture with a 360 camera & publish with Street View StudioIf you publish Street View content where content already exists, Google automatically determines the default collection based on quality, resolution, and recency. You can use the Time Machine feature on Google Maps to find a collection from a specific date.” It means that several collection can exist on the same street, but in this case yours is not the one displayed by default.

Even if you have an amazing 360° camera, and your collection is indeed new, probably the existing ones have an higher resolution.

In any case I want to say that your collection is blended with the one by Google, and clicking just in front of the pin in Zweiengasse this is what I can see:

On a side note, as you mentioned that “We offer our customers 360° indoor shots” I would like to remind you that, according to the Local Guides Program Terms and Conditions : “Organizations, brands, and businesses are not eligible for the Program. If you offer services for hire (such as marketing yourself as a Street View trusted provider), you are not allowed to bundle such services with your Local Guide membership”. You should use two different accounts, one for your business and one as a Local Guide. For more details please read: How to be a Street View trusted photographer while also being a Local Guide
