360º Photos in Education

Tell us what you love sharing most on Google Maps and why?

I love the ability to upload 360º photos to Google Maps and geolate them so people can be immersed in the environments that I’ve travelled to, in particular schools and educational institutions that I’ve visited.

I also love the fact that my students at Wooranna Park Primary School can upload content to Google Maps so that the visitors that we get from all over the world can see out school before they arrive, and see it from a students perspective.

I dare say that our school has the highest amount of students created 360º content of any primary or elementary school in the world!

Recently we had a group of educators visit our school from The George Lucas Foundation (Edutopia in California) to make a documentary about our school. The feedback they gave us on the student created Google Maps 360º content was really fantastic! - they felt like they had visited the school before they even boarded a plane to Australia!

I feel like more schools and educational institutions need to be utilising this amazing tool to collaborate and share learning environments.
