Has anyone tried mashing up panoramic images and street view tagging them at a gallery? I have, take a look.
Hello @Virtual_Homey i did make panorama’s but I never did 360 ones. Can you tell me a bit more on how you made these? What camera and software did you use etc,
Sure @Erik_van_den_Ham , I shot hdr stills on my a7riii and then through a series in ptgui and photoshop I created a new setting. Since the horizon is on the same plane for each image they merge together well.
Thanks @Virtual_Homey for the info! I checked out some other pictures on your maps profile. This one got me puzzled but it still looks great and funny
Why do that @Virtual_Homey ? Street View photos posted on Google Maps shouldn’t be altered like that.
I believe some if not all the errors we see are “bad stitching” stemming from the failed process of combining several images into one.
@Virtual_Homey please replace this image with a better one since it does not represent the place correctly.
Thanks
Hello @Virtual_Homey ,
Thanks for sharing your first post with us and welcome to Connect! Since you are new, you might want to take a look at Your guide to Connect, where you will find helpful information about the forum.
I also wanted to let you know that I’ve just recovered your post from the spam folder. Our automatic filters run 24/7 to protect the community from unwanted content and they can be a little harsh at times, I apologize for that. You can read more here: Why was my Connect post marked as spam?
He altered the photo purposely @MortenCopenhagen . This shouldn’t be allowed.
@Giu_DiB he has purposely photoshopped the 360 photos and posted them on Google Maps. This shouldn’t be allowed as photos should show the real photo.
Hi @TheEagleEye
I think the photo rules cover this pretty well:
Google stated:
- Stylistic adjustments (such as applied filters) are acceptable, provided that these stylistic changes are minimal.
- Excessively dark or blurry images significantly rotated compositions, and the use of filters that dramatically alter the representation of the place may be rejected.
Source: Maps User Contributed Content Policy Open Photos and Videos and then Stylistic.
So I think we can safely flag this “Harry Potter” - like image as not representing the place correctly. I would use the Poor quality option when reporting it.
Cheers
Morten
