September 23-rd is the day when the Sun left North hemisphere, and the day becomes less than night. In this day I visited beautiful town in the south of Russia - Kislovodsk. Located in Stavropol Krai near Caucasus mountains, it has one of the best climate maybe in the whole world: warm but no hot summers, not so cold winters (as for Russia - very warm) and a lot of sunshine throughout the year. Conditions of Kislovodsk allow to grow a lot of beautiful plants and flowers, but most of all this town famous for it’s carbonated water Narzan, which spills here. But years ago I have already visited Kislovodsk, and this time I decided to climb the mountains by car, especially there are a lot of interesting places there. When I left Kislovodsk, it was sunny wheather and +20 degrees Celsius, but after 20 km, when my car reached elevation 2000 m, I saw snow piles on the field. The day before there was a big snowstorm in this place, and temperature dropped to -5,5 degrees Celsius in the night - as the New Year in Moscow. It was very unusual to see the snow in September, even in this elevation, especially since only half an hour ago I saw green trees in Kislovodsk! But I think, that it was a good idea to go there on this day - I made interesting virtual tour, that befins in Summer, after goes through the Winter and finally finished in Autumn - when I reached Narzan Valley in Kabardino-Balkaria at the elevation of 1450 meters (you can see yhis tour here). From this road in good wheather it’s really to see Elbrus mountain - the highest point of Russia and Europe.
In Narzan valley you can also drink carbonated water, than flowing from the ground, and enjoy Caucasus cuisine, for example, ayran - fermented milk product*, lamb cebab* or cheburek - Causacian cake with cheese or meat. Unfortunately I hadn’t enough time to discover this area in detail - four hours later I must return rented car in Stavropol, and little later - take the return train to Voronezh.
