Hello Friends,

I went to Copenhagen for sightseeing, and on 2nd September, 2020. I had a great opportunity to met my mentor @MortenCopenhagen (Google Maps Profile) in Copenhagen, Denmark. I’m excited to meet him because, it was very first meet-up after involved as a Google Local Guide. He is such a great and broad minded person. After a formal introduced and we decided to do a photo walk. Also joined with us his daughter Sofie. Who are a Level 6 Google Local Guide.

During our photo walk we focused some of the key points related to shooting for Google Maps include:

  • Always shoot with the Sun behind you
  • Never ever use portrait mode - always landscape-orientation
  • Why store-fronts are particularly relevant when shooting for Google Maps
  • How to avoid faces and people in your shots
  • How to avoid having your reflection visible in your shots
  • How to make horizontal lines parallel
  • How to make vertical lines parallel to your frame sides
  • How to shoot very tall buildings and still have straight vertical lines
  • How to ensure you find the best possible place to take your shots from

Wow! This is awesome! I love to read posts like yours. Meeting a Local Guide is always awesome, it’s like 2 similar world’s coming together, I have enjoyed all of my physical meetups.

Also glad to see that @MortenCopenhagen already has his daughter in :clap:

I just wrote on another post @Roman_Ahmmed and had to mention it again here that how so nice it is to hear that you visited Copenhagen and caught up with my friend @MortenCopenhagen . As I said before, I love hearing about how we Connectors, connect and meet up around the world!!! I know that we here are antipodes and hence are long distances away from you in the northern part of the world, however, should you ever venture down under, then do let me know as we are a friendly bunch here and will openly welcome you :wink:

@Roman_Ahmmed How great! I had the honor to meet @MortenCopenhagen in person at Connect Live 2019 and his knowledge about the program and ideas on how to improve it are impressive! :slightly_smiling_face: By the way, Copenhagen is a beautiful city! :heart_eyes:
