In June 1987 me and my wife drove from Chicago via Niagara Falls, Toronto and Lake Placid to New York City by car.
After a business trip to Montreal, Quebec and Chicago I rented a car to go via Port Huron, Niagara Falls, Toronto and Lake Placid to New York City.

Yes the photo was taken from the US side. I am from Michigan it would take about 9 hours driving to Niagara Falls on US only 4 hours on Canada side. Across the border from Detroit or Port Huron. When are you planning to re visit Niagara Falls check the view in the evening more prettier @saxyJurgen

Unfortunately I have no chance to see Niagara Falls again! Next stay in the USA will take me from New York City to Washington DC, Cape Canaveral, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas with my wife and our grandson - perhaps in August this year.
It will be my last visit of the USA, because I’m already 77 years old.
You are still young don’t stop traveling I travel a lot with my van I have not visited the west side though hopefully soon.

By the way my mother’s first name is Erna, too. My mother died in 2017 in the age of 94 after years of a serious disease.
Wow really? Not many Erna’s name here but in Indonesia where I was originally from it is very common. Feel honor to know that we share the same name.

Beautiful post on your USA trip @saxyJurgen . I never had a chance to visit Niagara from Canada. Heard that’s the best view. But I am happy with what I see from the USA end too. These were taken back in 2013, on my very first trip to the USA.
