Just walked from Playa del Carmen to a beach called Maroma. It was a challenging walk, the sun hit hard, I ha to cross rivers, sand dunes, and jungle. I recommend to be cautious and do this walk only during the day and with people. If an hotel guard tries to stop you from passing, remember, the beach is a federal area and no one can stop you or prevent you from just walking on the coast line. If you see any animals, you will probably see Coatis, don’t feed them or bother them. Coatis are a type of raccoon, they are non aggressive and come in big families.
After arriving in Maroma, a tour guide gave me a ride to the corner of my house, out of generosity, prove of what Mexican people really are. I recommend a beach walk every once in a while, is fun.
