15 days of Annapurna tracking (Part 1)

28th Dec 2017, Temperature falling down in Katmandu, Nepal. And I decided to go for an adventure trip in this coming new year to make it memorable.

I am a foreigner here, traveling Nepal for last 15 days, I went to Pokhara, Chitwan National park, Nagarkot and some other tourist places again. Again because I went all these places in 2012 with my wife, so these places are not attracting me anymore. I want to do something new. Something adventurous. So I thought to go for tracking, and why not? Nepal is one of the best places in the world for tracking!

I contact a local tour guide in Thamel, Katmandu for the paperwork that I need to complete for the tracking. They will help me to get all the govt passes, and as this Is my first time tracking in Nepal, I want a guide with me.

There i met with my new friend Diego. He also plans to go for racking and that’s why he is here. He wanted to go to Base camp but I talk with him and told him that I will go to 14-15 days Anapurna Tracking, it’s more versatile than the base camp, He was kinda open and he agrees to go Anapurna and I got a companion with me.

5:30 am 1st Jan 2018. I am Late! I have to get ready, Packing and checkout from the hotel and wait in the previously selected place for our guide Kami. He will pick up us from there and we will start our journey to Anapurna. 6:30 am I meet Kami and we took a taxi to go to the bus station, from there we took a minivan to Besisahar, A small city in Lamjung District. We reached Besisahar around 3:30 pm.

Till now I don’t know what I am going to experience in the next 15 days. I ask kami where we will stay tonight, he replied “Bhulbhule”. I don’t know where is it, so I googled and found that its around 9 KM walking distance from Besisahar. I was already tired for the 8 hours journey and now I have to walk 9KM on the mountain road with my backpack. Then I start to realize what I have done! Diego was cool, he is fit and useto on this kind of situation. This is his first time in Nepal and he seems to enjoy it. We took a 15-20 min break and then start walking. This is our first day of the Anapurna track, On the way, I saw a beautiful river with a hanging bridge. The calm nature already amazes me. It was cold and downing. We walk fast so we can reach our tea house before dark. After 3 hours of walking in the mountain road, at last, we reached our destination for the night.

We are welcomed with my favorite hot honey lemon tea. And in dinner some soup rice, dal, and vegetables.
