14 Best Free Places to visit in Kuala Lumpur Shared List
- Little India, Brickfields (https://goo.gl/maps/GJbZng8tScokiKHu5) (Photo above)
Brickfields or more affectionately known as Little India in Kuala Lumpur can be considered the center of Indian community culture and businesses in town. Lots of Indian eateries, shops, supermarkets and more. It’s a great place to just walk around, especially in the evenings, looking at the colorful decorations, listening to music playing the background, and just to sit and have snacks and tea. Many locals come here to buy fresh produce, spices and condiments, as this is where once would get all the unique spices from India. For travelers, it is just a great place to experience Indian culture outside of India. During festival seasons like Deepavali, this place lights up with road side bazaars and more. Centrally located just next to Kuala Lumpur Sentral station, it’s definitely a must visit.

One of the largest and most popular night markets in Kuala Lumpur is the weekend night market in Lorong Tuanku Abdul Rahman. This is centrally located and can be easily accessible through the Masjid India area. Masjid Negara is our national mosque located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Many Muslims come here daily for prayers, and non-Muslims are permitted to visit outside of prayer times. Proper dressing is required for entrance. It’s a beautiful place with a huge courtyard and central minaret. And visitors can feel the sense of calm and peace here. There are many beautiful features of Islamic art to be experience. Parking is free within the mosque compounds.
