106 feet tall GOMPA in Ladakh.

Diskit monastery is said to be the oldest and the largest BUDDHIST monastery in all Nubra valley in the Ladakh region. It is very ancient and was built in the 14th Centuries.

It is bordered with white and maroon brick color boundary nested in the mountain of the amazing Nubra valley. This GOMPA is situated basically in diskit monastery.

GOMPA is located at the converging point of the Nubra river and shyok river. Reaching the gate of this beautiful monastery, the huge GOMPA can be clearly seen with an amazing background scene. This is basically divided into two parts. The first part contains a great statue of maitrey buddha, so-called β€˜β€˜GOMPA’’. It is around 106 feet tall.

And the other part contains the beautiful monastery and a few old temples. To reach the monastery and temples, one has to take stairs. While heading through the stairs, don’t forget to get clicked. The view of the background on stairs is breathtaking and spectacular. On each stair, you will feel the peace. The monastery consists of a Prayer hall, Buddhist Deities, Huge drums, Oil lamps, Meditation hall, Posters, Painting. There is a temple called β€˜β€˜LACHUNG TEMPLE’’. Lachung temple, which is located at the top of this monastery, is the oldest Buddhist temple in Nubra valley. I have attached photos for reference. These overall feelings of this monastery give you INCREDIBLE PEACE.

The quality of the pictures is stunning, what camera did you use?

Are there any hotels or guest houses where one can spend the night?
