it is said that the last emperior of Hyderbad Nizam meer usman ali khan has found a committee to develop the city’s under his empire in 1905. In 1907 the committee decided to build a pool (bridge) over the kundalika river in jalna as it was difficult to pass through the river during rains . The bridge was under construction for 2 years and finally completed in 1909. The bridge was constructed by The London engineers and iron ship building company limited London. It was imported by ship from london to Mumbai and then by Rail from Mumbai to Jalna. As the bridge was made of iron(loha) it was called “Lohe ka pool” or “Lokhandi pool”
it was installed over the kundalika river which is passing through the city to connect Old jalna and New Jalna. And after its more than 100 yrs completed it is being Demolish and a new bridge is going to b construed.
