Hello my friends! My name is Buddhika Dilshan and I’m from Sri Lanka. I’m a Level 7 Google Local Guide, Street View Trusted Photographer, a tourist guide, a photographer and a drone developer.
What I love to do:
One of my favorite things to do is take photos of the places where I go. I upload these photos to the Google Maps because I like to help people to be able to visually see a place before they go there. You can have an idea about why I love to share photos on Google Maps and why I love photography by reading my reasons.

5 Reasons Why I love Photography and Why I Love to Share Photos on Google Maps
- 1. It Gives me a Reason and a Motivation to Travel to Beautiful Places and Explore
I would like to watch amazing travel photos that share on social media.I visited many beautiful places in my country because of those amazing photos which I saw on social media. Most of these places are incomprehensible and hidden places. As an example, I’ve been to Pidurangala and Punchi Lokanthaya,Pitawala Pathana(Mini World’s’ End) several times because I wanted to know exactly where those beautiful photographs were taken. Therefore I decided to share my travel photos in Google Maps. I think my photos would be useful to those who would like to visit the beautiful places in my country. That is why I love to share my travel pictures on Google maps.
- 2. It Has the Ability to Attract More People
When I see a beautiful photo, I’d always like to know more details about it because naturally we attract to beautiful things and beautiful sceneries. As an example, if it’s a good photo of a good restaurant, our mind will ask from us “look at this awesome place, why don’t you go and try out it yourself”. This is how a good picture attracts more customers. As Google Local Guides, we can help small businessmen by uploading good photos of their places and it will also helpful for the people who are looking for new food places. That is why I love to share pictures of the good places and foods on Google maps.
- 3. It Has the Ability to Evoke Emotions in Others.
Evoking emotion in others simply means that the photos say something. They may speak about something funny, thoughtful or sad. A good photo can put the viewer in a state of contemplation. Photos that evoke emotion simply portray a feeling. As an example we can upload some photos of happy moments, it can be anything like some happy moments of the safari, some happy moments of the boat ride, happy moments of the amusement park. Sharing photos of the happy moments will help to evoke good emotions on others. The people who watch those photos will start to think that they can also enjoy the same way as I do. That is why I love to share my travel photos on Google Maps.
- 4. For Me Getting the Perfect Shot is the Most Satisfying Thing Ever.
I always love to capture beautiful sceneries. Sometimes I spent hours to capture the perfect shot. For me the best time is in the morning time and the evening time because I really love the light condition at that time. Sometimes I capture multiple photos to get the perfect shot. If you can able to capture the perfect shot after waiting many hours believe me that is the most satisfying thing ever. Sharing these photos in Google Maps will help people to decide, what is the best time they need to go to the place to capture a photo or to see the real beauty of the place. That is why I love to share photos on Google Maps.
- 5. Photography Can Actually be Very Relaxing and Stress Free
I love photography because it’s a big stress relief for me. Looking at a beautiful photo or capturing a photo help me to forget my all problems temporary. The best way to relief the stress is, to go to that beautiful place where that photo was taken. That is why I love to share photos on Google Maps.
5 Reasons Why I love Aerial photos (Drone Photos) and Why I love to Share Them on Google Maps
- 1. Unique Photographic Perspective
You see, your home nearly every day, but have you ever seen what your home looks like from above? Probably not, this is why drone photography has a unique photographic perspective. I can see a place from a different angle I couldn’t see ever. I can also capture a big area in one photo. Therefore people can have a good idea about the places very well, thanks to aerial photography.
That is why I love to share aerial photos on Google Maps because it helps people to understand more about the location.
- 2. Can Access Hard-to-Reach Areas
I can access hard-to-reach areas and it’s a very simple thing with a good drone. We still can’t fly to the sky ourselves to take a photo of the place, but with a drone it’s a very simple thing. Believe me, you can capture stunning views. This ability helps me to show the real beauty of the place to the people. That is why I love to share aerial photos on Google Maps.
- 3. Enhanced real estate photography
I really like to take the photos of nice hotels and resorts. As a tourist guide, I like to introduce good hotels and resorts to my customers. I travel with them to many hotels and resorts very often so I have the chances to capture those beautiful hotels and resorts. When I introduce a good hotel to a customer I always send them a good aerial photo which I captured. Therefore they can have a better idea about the hotel and the surroundings. That is why I love to share aerial photos on Google Maps.
- 4. Impossible 360 photography
Now this is my favorite part. I’m a Google Street View Trusted Photographer. Mostly I capture 360 photos by using my phone. If there is an impossible view to capture with my phone, I use my drones for it. I captured some awesome 360 photos that no one can ever capture with a phone or any other 360 camera. The view is so beautiful and unique because it’s very hard reach the place but with the help of the Street View of Google Maps people can watch the place like they are in there. That is why I love to share aerial 360 photos on Google Maps.

- 5. can be a fun and relaxing hobby
No doubt, I love to fly my drones. I love to fly them in FPV (First Person View) mode because I feel like I’m flying in the sky like a bird. That is an awesome feeling. I forgot my every problem when I fly my drones. When I have a free time, mostly I like to fly my drones. It’s a really good hobby. When I go to a beautiful place I always try to capture a good photo with my drones. It’s a really nice feeling when I can able to show people what I saw. That is why I love to share aerial photos on Google Maps
