007 Bungy Jumping - Via Valle Verzasca, 6596 Gordola, Switzerland

I’ve done manay many Bungy Jumps around the world. Here is one that I did in Switzerland in 2012. It was the scene of the opening of the James Bond movie “Golden Eye”.

Hi @TheEagleEye ,

This is really cool and must have been very exciting! I’ve never tried bungee jumping, only paragliding, which was super cool! Which has been your favorite place to bungee jump?

Hey @TheEagleEye ,

Thanks for sharing!

Bungee jumping is so far one of my favorite activities, but I haven’t tried jumping in such beautiful surroundings. Denmark where I’m from is a very flat land so the only opportunities we have are from cranes. My highest jump so far was 60 meters, but I really want to do some of the really high ones around the world.

How high up was your jump in Switzerland?

Mamma mia … @TheEagleEye … awesome! I do not know if I would find the courage to face such a jump! Now that I’m sitting it all seems so exciting … but one thing is to find the emptiness in front and have the courage to take that last step into the void!

Congratulations for your jump!!

Bye,

David

@davidhyno @MortenSI @DanniS Thanks for messages. The 007 jump in Switzerland is 220 mtrs. I’ve also done Macau Tower in China 233 mtrs (that was straight after I had climbed the mast of the tower), and Sochi in Russia at 207 mtrs.

I’ve done all the jumps in New Zealand, and many others around the world.

Great fun but my wife insisted that I don’t do anymore.

All of them have been equally exciting.

Wow @TheEagleEye those are really cool spots you’ve chosen! Macau Tower seems exciting. You’ve done many jumps already, but any tips on how to prepare for such jumps for the first time?

I envy you @TheEagleEye , I really hope I get to do all those jumps one day.

I’m also very keen on trying parachuting, but I’ve actually heard that bungee jumping should get you more of an adrenaline kick. Apparently it has something to do with you being able to see the ground so close to you.

I have yet to try a jump here in Bulgaria, but i think my friends @sonnyNg and @KlaudiyaG have some experience here.

@MortenSI yes you are correct in saying it is more frightening than parachuting because it has something to do with you being able to see the ground so close to you. I’ve come that fear after so many years doing it.

I used to do parachuting too when I was in Air Force and in recent times just done Tandem as my concentration wasn’t the best so though doing solo was not a good idea. I’ve parachuted in New Zealand, Czech Republic, and in Jordan.

My wife has also insisted I do no more.

Wow you have really been all over @TheEagleEye !

I think I will start with the tandem jumps, as I have absolutely no idea how I will react to falling out of an airplane.

I could also start with the type of jump where the cord is tied to the wing of the airplane, so it will automatically be pulled, but you still get the feel of a solo jump.

I guess your wife wants you to be safe, so that is a good thing after all.

Hi @Eagle-Eye-360,

Thanks for sharing and kudos for the reference! : ]

It wouldn’t be fun when bungee jumping without a bit of thrill. One day, you should give a try, whether jumping from a dam or a cliff, @MortenSI.

We would love to hear more about stories back in the days when you were in the Air force!

Wow @TheEagleEye , 233m jump?! That’s awesome! So far my biggest accomplishment when it comes to bungee is 120m, which until 2 minutes ago, right before I read your post, though, that it was pretty extreme, but now it doesn’t sound that impressive.

The next thing that I want to try is hang gliding. Don’t get me wrong, I also want to try skydiving, but before that I would like to attend to fly a bit. Does any one of you have any experience with hang gliding?

P.S.: Thank you @MortenSI for tagging me in this thread! It’s right up my alley.

Hang gliding has actually never crossed my mind @KlaudiyaG , but I would love to try it.

I was seconds away from trying paragliding in September last year, but unfortunately another guy secured the last spot before me.

I will definitely try it in the summer though!

Paragliding sounds like something that I’ll enjoy. If you want some company @MortenSI I would love to join in. I’m almost sure that @sonnyNg will be interested as well, so we can try and organize something for the summer. What do you guys think?

I’m ready!

The more the merrier, and I would enjoy it even more with some company.

Brilliant!

@DanniS , do you want to join us for another paragliding adventure?

@KlaudiyaG I don’t have any suggestions for hang gliding. Like most things, do your research and pick a reputable company that does it. Safety first. Good luck.

@KlaudiyaG I could try it again, it was a lot of fun!

Notes taken, @Eagle-Eye-360!

Absolutely we should give that a try, @KlaudiyaG, as soon as the weather gets better. : ]

I completely agree with you @TheEagleEye ! Safety should always come first. But before starting with my hang gliding research, I’ll begin by looking into companies and reviews for paragliding. By the way, what’s your next adventure? Are you into snorkeling?

@KlaudiyaG good on you.

I used to snorkel and scuba dive in my 20s but given that up too. I’m taking it easier these days when it comes to adventure/adrenaline sports. I’m more enjoying visiting new countries and seeing the things I’ve always wanted to see.

Good luck with all your adventures and look forward to seeing your updates.
